🚲 Community Vigilance Helps Recover Stolen E-Bike 🚲
A big thank you to a vigilant member of the Harehills community who helped recover a stolen road-legal Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC).
In the early hours of 11 July, the resident spotted a male pushing an EAPC with its rear wheel locked on Roundhay Road. Sensing that something wasn't right, they challenged the individual, who ran off and left the bike behind. The community member then contacted West Yorkshire Police and ensured the bike was kept safe.
Following local enquiries, officers were able to reunite the EAPC with its rightful owner. 👏
Enquiries into the theft remain ongoing, and targeted patrols are being carried out in the area.
✅ Remember to register your bicycle with Bike Register - The National Cycle Database | BikeRegister ✅Keep a record of serial numbers, and take steps to secure your property.
This is a great example of how community vigilance can make a real difference.
Thank you to everyone who continues to look out for their neighbours, communities and reports suspicious behaviour.
